Son Heung-min thinks he will only get legendary status at Tottenham Hotspur once he wins silverware at the club.

There is no doubt that almost every Spurs fan you talk to would describe Son as a legend, with the forward being one of the most popular players in the club’s recent history.
He is now the face of Tottenham and one of the longest-serving players at the club, having completed nine seasons at N17 since his switch from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2015.
However, despite all the records that he has achieved at Spurs, Son insisted that he wants to lead the club to silverware before he can command the status of a Tottenham legend.
He told Football.London: “It’s been almost 10 years at this amazing club. To be honest, it’s been an incredible journey. There have been so many players I’ve played alongside and managers I’ve worked with who have been so helpful and brought me so many fond memories and respect along the way,” said in an interview in the club’s final matchday programme of the season.
“I still want to make things happen. It’s not down to me to decide if I’m a legend at this club. I wouldn’t call myself a legend because I want to win something here and that’s why I’m so committed. I think we have a bright future with this manager and this squad so we have to keep improving so we can achieve more together.
“When my time does come to leave this amazing club, I hope everyone can call me a legend which will be a huge honour and one I would be so grateful for.”

Sonny loves playing under Postecoglou at Tottenham
Son has had a new lease of life since Ange Postecoglou replaced Antonio Conte at the helm a year ago, with the Australian making the South Korean the club captain.
The forward admitted that he is thoroughly enjoying his football under the Tottenham head coach and is confident that the team will be much more competitive next season.
When asked about working with Postecoglou, the 31-year-old said: “Ange has brought an enjoyment to the game, almost like when you’re playing for the love of the game as a kid, and that’s how you should approach it – not overthinking it too much and just enjoy doing what you love,” said the skipper.
“I think that’s why he always delivers the right message and lesson. As a human being, he’s very family-orientated and has brought that into the group. He cares deeply about the whole squad which is very inspiring. I’m very, very pleased to be working with him.
“Playing an exciting brand of football is all well and good but you have to really buy into and believe in Ange’s style of football. You have to be all in, and everyone here is committed to it and willing to put in the sacrifice to be successful which is very important.
“This is only our first season. I believe we have made big steps forward but still there is massive room to improve. We have to look at the positives in order to move forward in the strongest way possible.”
Spurs Web Opinion
No player deserves a trophy as much as Son does. The South Korean has been a fantastic servant to the club and has shown unbelievable loyalty, even though he could have joined any side in world football at his pomp.
However, even if he does not have any trophies to show for his time at Tottenham, he will still be considered one of the club’s biggest modern-day legends.
