Heung-min Son joins Fortnite amid Tottenham Hotspur exit rumours

Tottenham captain Heung-min Son is set to make his mark outside of football, as reports reveal his long-anticipated arrival in Fortnite with a unique skin and his trademark celebration.

Indeed, Tottenham Hotspur’s captain, Heung-min Son, is a global superstar, as the wide forward has made a name for himself after a decade-long stay in the Premier League.

The 32-year-old winger has cemented his legacy as a Spurs legend after he helped the club win their first ever trophy since 2008, following the club’s barren spell.

Given his popularity across the globe, particularly in his country, Korea, the Tottenham forward has become one of the most marketable figures at N17 in recent years.

Heung-min Son set for Fortnite skin with ‘Click’ celebration

A report from Yonhap News Agency now states that Son’s reach is set to go beyond football, with the Tottenham captain coming to Fortnite as a skin from 21 June to 28 June.

It is reported that the Spurs number seven would be wearing a cybernetic armour, with the bundle expected to come with his signature “Click” celebration as an Emote.

According to the outlet, the bundle will also feature Forward Edge Bling back, which doubles up as a Pickaxe and changes colour based on the time of day in-game.

Heung-min Son could leave Tottenham amid off-pitch ventures

Of course, it has also been revealed that the reason for this surprising collaboration between a football star and a battle royale game is that Fortnite are looking to boost its popularity in Korea.

For sure, this comes as no surprise given Heung-min Son’s popularity in Asia, where he’s regarded as a celebrity and a national hero thanks to his huge following.

In fact, Tottenham are expected to go to Asia for their preseason tour, which, of course, is not the first time the Lilywhites have headed to that destination, as they look to continue to increase their popularity in East Asia.

However, while the player remains a Premier League star, his future at Tottenham remains uncertain, with reports suggesting that Heung-min Son could well be shown the exit door this summer.
