Heung-min Son jokes he was scared to talk to new Tottenham signing at first

Son Heung-min has joked that he was initially a little scared to speak to Radu Dragusin, given the Romanian’s imposing size.

Tottenham secured the services of Dragusin from Genoa last month in a £26.7m deal on the back of the centre-back’s outstanding 18-month spell at the Italian club.

There was no shortage of interest in the 22-year-old’s services last month, with Spurs reportedly seeing off competition from both Bayern Munich (Independent) and Napoli (Area Napoli)to land the player.

There appears to be plenty of excitement at Hotspur Way about Dragusin’s arrival, with the club’s technical director Johan Lange telling the club’s official channel last week that the young defender has all the attributes to excel in Ange Postecoglou’s system.

However, Dragusin is still waiting for his first start for Tottenham since his switch last month, with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven having established a formidable partnership at the back for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

When asked about his interactions with the new signing, The Spurs captain has now told Sports Chosun: “I was a bit scared of him at first because he’s so big but we talked a few times and he’s really kind and super talented. I’m an attacker and he’s a defender so I wish we could talk more about how we could cause more problems to attackers (on the pitch).”

The fact that Tottenham are out of the FA Cup and thus have just one game a week until the end of the season does Dragusin’s chances of getting game time no favours at all. The centre-back will have to be patient over the next few months and we might not see the best of him until next season.
