Heung-min Son says he wants to become ‘a perfect player’ for Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son has been discussing how much room for improvement he still has in his game, and insists he is determined to work harder and become the ‘perfect player’ for Ange Postecoglou.

To say that Heung-min Son has stepped up this season would be an understatement. The Spurs skipper has registered 14 goals and eight assists so far this term (Transfermarkt).

With Harry Kane leaving the club last summer, it has been down to Son to be the goalscoring outlet and creative spark in Ange Postecoglou‘s side this year.

It is not just goals and assists that the 31-year-old has been providing, though. Son has also become an exceptional leader and inspiring role model on and off the pitch for the players around him, as well as strengthening his own relationship with the fan base, too.

Heung-min Son has more to give

Speaking to the Standard, Son has revealed he is not done yet, and still wants to keep improving, especially if it means he can help Postecoglou’s project.

He said: “It’s not [down to] just myself to be here, I need help from the manager and the staff. Everybody helps me a lot, especially the gaffer. He makes me a better player. I hope it’s not finished. I want to be a perfect player for him and I still have to work on being a perfect player for him.

“What do I need to do? Maybe you have to ask the gaffer, but I have to work even harder. There are many aspects I have to improve.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Sonny has been a terrific captain this year, he looks as good as ever on the pitch, and he is firmly establishing himself as a club legend. If he thinks he can get even better, that is a very exciting thought for Spurs fans.
