Heung-min Son reached a big milestone in international football during South Korea’s win over Kuwait on Thursday.

Heung-min Son captained South Korea to an important win
The Koreans emerged with a comfortable 3-1 win away from home against Kuwait to solidify their position at the top of Group B in the AFC World Cup qualifiers.
Oh Se-hun gave the away side the lead before Son stepped up in the 19th minute to slot home a spot-kick to put his side 2-0 up.
Mohammad Daham struck on the hour mark to bring the home side back into the game only for Bae Jun-ho to sealed the result with a third Korean goal just 14 minutes later.
Son has scored 50 goals for South Korea
There was never any doubt that Son would put the penalty away when he stepped up and the strike was the forward’s 50th goal in his national team colours.
The Tottenham man has reached the landmark in 130 matches, which is an outstanding strike-rate for someone who is not an out-and-out striker.
Son is now just eight goals away from the nation’s leading goalscorer Cha Bum-kun and he will fancy his chances of clinching the record before he hangs up his boots.
