An excited Heung-min Son has sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur supporters ahead of his return to north London.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have the opportunity to see their club legend for the first time in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since Spurs’ final match against Brighton at the end of last season, when he returns next week.
Heung-min Son announced his departure from Tottenham in his home town during Spurs’ pre-season tour of Asia, and as such, he did not have the chance to say a proper goodbye to the supporters.
Son has since been enjoying his football in MLS with LA FC, where he has scored 12 goals already this season.
Heung-min Son Tottenham return message ahead of stadium visit
Yesterday, it was confirmed that Son will be visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday, December 9, when Tottenham take on Slavia Praha in the Champions League.
The former Tottenham captain has now sent a message to the Tottenham fans ahead of his return, as relayed by the club’s official account.
He said: “Hi everyone it is Sonny here I hope everyone is doing well. When I left this club I was in Korea and I never had a proper chance to say goodbye to everyone.
“So now I am very happy because I am going to come back to London on nine of December champions League night and I want to see everybody, fans, players and staff and also say proper goodbye to all of you guys.
“It will be a very emotional day but I think it is very important for me and the club this is happening so see you soon.”
Heung-min Son legacy and Tottenham recognition
The 33-year-old is also set to have a mural painted in his honour alongside other club icons Ledley King and Harry Kane.
Son cemented his legendary status after helping Tottenham lift their first trophy in almost two decades last term when they won the Europa League.
He will forever have a place in north London, and he is in the heart of many supporters for the memories he gave to them, and many fans cannot wait to see him again.
