Heung Min Son’s potential return dates from the Asia Cup

Tottenham Hotspur are in the midst of a real striker and midfielder crisis at the club, with several key players currently unavailable to Pochettino.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli have both been ruled out until early March through ankle and hamstring injuries respectively.

Mousa Sissoko is also out injured, along with Victor Wanyama and Luke Amos in central midfield.

To add insult to injury Heung Min Son is currently on his second stint away from the club this season, as he represents South Korea in another tournament.

After winning gold at the Asia Games in the summer, Son is now captaining his country in the Asia Cup for the next few weeks.

How far South Korea go in the competition could be pivotal in how Spurs negotiate their current injury problems.

Son and co just about navigated past Bahrain in the round of 16 yesterday, winning 2-1 after extra time.

Son will now definitely miss both the Carabao Cup semi and FA Cup clash against Palace at the weekend.

If South Korea lose to Qatar on Friday, Son would be back in time for the Watford game midweek.

If they progress, but lose in the semi final, he could return for the Newcastle game on February second.

If South Korea make it all the way to the final, Sonny will miss games against Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Watford, and Newcastle.
