Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Heurelho Gomes, has named Sandro as a potential Spurs manager one day, insisting his former teammate has what it takes to be a coach if he chooses to go down that route.
The Brazilian duo have become cult icons at Spurs since their playing days came to an end, with many fans admiring their passion and commitment to the Lilywhites over the years.
Sandro, a no-nonsense central midfielder, made 106 appearances for Spurs between 2010 and 2014 (Transfermarkt), and admitted that leaving the club was the biggest mistake of his career (GOAL).
The 35-year-old announced his retirement from football in September of last year. He has since been spotted at multiple Spurs games, including the win over Fulham in October where he was seen dancing with the home crowd.
Will Sandro be the Spurs manager one day?
Obviously, Tottenham are pretty happy with Ange Postecoglou as their manager right now, but Gomes has claimed that one day, it could be Sandro sitting in the dugout for Spurs.
Speaking to Chris Cowlin, Gomes discussed Sandro’s admission that he would like to be Spurs manager, and said: “He’s capable of it. I think the way he… normally I speak to him about football and the way he speaks about football and the way he can put it, is different. But the way he thinks about football yes, he can become a very very good manager.”

Who knows what the future holds for both Spurs and Sandro? We’ve seen amazing players become terrible managers, and average players go on to be incredible coaches, so there’s no reason Sandro can’t go all the way to the top as a coach if he so chooses. And, we know the Spurs fans would certainly embrace him if he was to return to the club in that capacity.
