‘His contract would have been cancelled’ – Journalist rips into on-loan Spurs star

Turkish journalist Sercan Dikme has questioned how Tanguy Ndombele is still getting minutes at Galatasaray, insisting that the midfielder’s contract should have been ripped up.

Ndombele has struggled to get regular game time since his loan switch to Galatasaray last summer and has constantly come under criticism for his lacklustre displays.

In fact, quite a few Turkish outlets even suggested that the midfielder’s spell in Istanbul would be cut short in January as manager Okan Buruk had not been pleased with the 27-year-old’s application (Milliyet).

The Frenchman ended up staying put at Rams Park and he has been getting some minutes under his belt over recent weeks.

Tanguy Ndombele comes under fire once again

However, it does not seem like the on-loan Spurs star is justifying his selection, with Dikme at a complete loss as to how the player is being picked.

In fact, the journalist suggested that if Ndombele was playing for their rivals, Benfica, his deal would have already been terminated.

Dikme told GS Gazete (as relayed by Sport Witness): “Who gets the most criticism at Galatasaray? Ndombele. Okan Buruk is still playing him and nobody says anything. I bet he wouldn’t have played for one month at Beşiktaş, his contract would have been cancelled.”

Given the way it is going for Ndombele at Galatasaray, Tottenham may find it pretty difficult to find a buyer for him next summer, even if they sell him for a cut-price fee. Even Saudi Pro League sides might think twice about bringing the 27-year-old through the door.
