‘His dream is to win with Tottenham’ – Conte opens up on working with Harry Kane

Antonio Conte has praised the quality and professionalism of Tottenham striker Harry Kane and wants to help him achieve his dream of winning silverware with the club.

The 28-year-old has endured a tough start to the Premier League campaign, with much of the blame being pinned on a summer hangover from which he was part of a failed transfer to Manchester City.

Kane also struggled to adapt to the style of now-departed Nuno Espirito Santo and rarely had much of an impact on games under the Portuguese coach.

Spurs appointed Conte directly after Nuno’s dismissal in a bid to get the side firing again, and one of the priorities for the former Chelsea boss will be to right the club form of Kane.

Conte, though, has no doubt the England captain will get back to consistent scoring form for Spurs and vows to help him win trophies with the club, which is something that has eluded him thus far.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Fabrizio Romano), Conte said: “His dream is to win with Tottenham and I want to help him. He’s a top player. If you tell him something, just a minute later he does it.

“He has talent, quality, he knows the game and how to score. He’s smart – I’ve seen few like [Harry] Kane.”

You can tell that Kane is relentless when it comes to training and meticulous in terms of mastering different aspects of the game. His rut this season has been well documented, but hopefully appointing a manager of Conte’s calibre can get him motivated and raring to go again.
