‘His feet work quicker than his brain’ – Pundit not impressed with one Tottenham star

Jamie O’Hara thinks Brennan Johnson is far from a finished product and still has to improve considerably at Tottenham.

Johnson did come in for plenty of criticism during the first few months of the campaign, with the winger initially failing to live up to his £47.5m price tag.

However, over the last couple of months, the former Nottingham Forest man has well and truly turned a corner, delivering goals and assists with regularity as a starter as well as off the bench.

The Welshman delivered what was arguably his best display of the season at Villa Park last week, giving Matty Cash a torrid time down the Spurs left and also finding the back of the net.

However, Johnson was one of several Spurs players to deliver lacklustre performances at Craven Cottage as Ange Postecoglou’s men fell to an embarrassing 3-0 loss.

Brennan Johnson criticised for Fulham performance

O’Hara has now singled out the winger for criticism, opining that his feet work faster than his brain does.

The pundit told talkSPORT (8:09 pm, March 16, 2024): “Brennan Johnson for me, Gab, you know, he is so quick.

“Look, you are someone who had loads of pace, right? I just feel like sometimes his feet work quicker than his brain, do you know what I mean?

“I am looking at him, like going, go and sort out your feet out, and you will score. Sort your feet out and you will go past him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Johnson was hardly the only Tottenham player to struggle against Fulham, with the whole team having stinkers barring a couple of players. I do not think it is entirely fair to single out the 22-year-old, given how well he has played since the turn of the year.
