‘Hit and miss’ – Mark Lawrenson shares his Spurs v Everton prediction

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League match against Everton in tomorrow’s late kick-off.

Spurs head into the fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the back of beating Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday evening which took them to the top of Group D.

Last time out, Lawrenson predicted that Spurs would beat Brighton 2-1, when in fact it ended as a 1-0 victory for Antonio Conte’s side.

The former BBC pundit believes that Spurs will make it three wins out of three, despite Everton’s recent impressive run of form that saw their six-match unbeaten run ended by Manchester United on Sunday.

He told Paddy Power: “Everton are going well which has been a bit of a surprise for all of us, they’ve been really solid.

“Spurs had a good win in the Champions League during the week and Son Heung-min’s back amongst the goals. They’re a bit hit and miss but I’m pretty sure they’ll beat Everton.

Tottenham 2-0 Everton.”

Everton have shown this season they have made improvements since the comfortable 5-0 win back in north London in March.

These are matches that Spurs need to be winning if they have any ambition of looking to push the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.
