Hojbjerg and Dele mock Reguilon on social media after scoring ‘first’ Spurs goal

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Dele Alli have mocked Sergio Reguilon on Instagram after the full-back scored his first goal for the club in the 2-1 win over Leeds United.

Spurs produced a positive second-half display following a tepid 45 minutes, which saw a chorus of boos ring around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Daniel James’ opener before the interval was cancelled out by Hojbjerg, who started the comeback with a low effort past Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier just before the hour mark.

Antonio Conte’s side found themselves ahead just 10 minutes later when Reguilon tapped home a rebound after Eric Dier’s free-kick deflected off the post and in the direction of the Spaniard.

It was the 24-year-old’s first strike for Spurs on what was his 50th appearance, which ultimately proved to be the winner in a contest that was truly a game of two halves.

Reguilon’s excited reaction said it all as he sprinted away in celebration, culminating in a knee-slide in front of the Spurs faithful.

However, teammates Hojbjerg and Alli were quick to tease Reguilon following his tally on Sunday, by congratulating him on his ‘second goal’ for Spurs.

The pair jokingly commented beneath the full-back’s Instagram post after the game, by reminding him of the comical own-goal he scored against Aston Villa last season which he fired past club captain Hugo Lloris.

Reguilon has been searching for his first Spurs goal for a while, and you can tell by his reaction that he was relieved to finally get it given how attack-minded he is. Of course, a couple of his teammates couldn’t resist the chance to tease him after that moment last season.
