Hojbjerg reveals what Spurs squad are doing to try and fix inconsistent form

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has insisted Tottenham are aware and unhappy with their current inconsistent run of form and are working hard to bring back a sense of stability.

Spurs have endured a volatile spell since the turn of the year, winning six games and losing seven across all competitions.

In that period, Spurs secured a bold 3-2 victory at Premier League leaders Manchester City, but failed to kick on as they lost relegation candidates Burnley a few days later.

Antonio Conte, who would have been unhappy with the display against the Clarets, led Spurs to a bounce-back performance against Leeds but then saw his side crash out of the FA Cup to Championship outfit Middlesbrough.

Hojbjerg claims he and his Tottenham teammates are frustrated by the lack of consistency on show at this stage of the season but says the squad is working to change the club’s outlook with the business end of the campaign approaching.

He told William Hill, via Daily Mail: “If you beat City away you should follow that up by not losing the game after. And we did.

“But it’s something we are definitely aware of and working on and not happy with of course, at all.

“Obviously, it’s a fact. It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact that we won one, lost one and won one and lost one. Yeah, that’s not what you call consistency is it? In those terms, definitely we have to be on the right track.

“We are working hard every day, we are analysing a lot, we are spending a lot of time together in terms of the details that can shift the result or the momentum. We are working very hard to turn this one around. Stability is key, definitely, you have to dig deep.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s form since the New Year has been pretty shocking, to say the least, and it has been a case one step forward, one step back.

The Man City display showed exactly what the team is capable of on its day, but that hasn’t happened not nearly often enough which has really cost them in recent games.
