How Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate could cause a £100m Tottenham transfer blow

Tottenham Hotspur may be nervously waiting to see what an experienced Liverpool star does over the coming weeks and months, as it could have a big impact on the Lilywhites’ summer plans.

For the second season in a row, it appears that Tottenham Hotspur are set to finish in the lower end of the Premier League table.

In these situations, it is natural that the club’s best players could be seeking moves away, and that is exactly the situation the North Londoners may be facing.

Over recent days, it has emerged that Tottenham fear that both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven could push for summer moves, and one of their futures could depend on what a 26-year-old Frenchman does.

Ibrahima Konate’s decision could dictate Micky van de Ven’s Tottenham future

Over recent weeks, it has emerged that Liverpool are now plotting a move for Micky van de Ven, and a new report has shed light on what the Reds’ stance is.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool would be prepared to move for an experienced centre-back in the summer if Ibrahima Konate leaves the club.

Konate’s current deal runs out in the summer, and the Reds are keen to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

However, the 26-year-old is one of the names on Real Madrid’s wishlist, and should he move to Santiago Bernabeu, Liverpool would be prepared to raid Tottenham for Van de Ven.

The outlet asserts that the Dutchman is one of the players Liverpool ‘would seriously consider’ in the summer if Konate decides to leave Anfield.

Spurs will not let Van de Ven leave without a fight

It has been reported by a number of sources over the last couple of weeks that Tottenham have no intention of parting ways with Van de Ven, who still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract.

It has been suggested that Spurs will demand over £100m for Van de Ven, and are hopeful that his suitors will be scared away by the price tag.

However, Tottenham have been warned that Van de Ven could push for a move in the summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
