‘How much I missed you’ – Injured Spurs player on international team return

Cristian Romero has posted a picture of himself taking to the pitch in his Argentina training kit, which has seemingly annoyed some Spurs fans.

Romero has been out with a hamstring injury since last month, having missed Tottenham’s last five matches across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old’s absence has certainly been felt, with Antonio Conte having to use Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier at right centre-back on different occasions.

Romero has been a key player in Argentina’s set-up over the last couple of years and Lionel Scaloni might have been sweating on his fitness, with the Albiceleste getting their World Cup campaign underway with a clash against Saudi Arabia on November 22.

However, based on the Tottenham man’s latest social media post, it looks likely that he will recover in time for the clash.

Romero posted a picture of himself in Argentina’s training gear just a day after Spurs’ Premier League fixture against Leeds, with a caption that read: “How much I missed you.”

Some Tottenham fans on social media were not too impressed with the centre-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

None of us know the specifics of Romero’s injury and whether he actually trained with the Argentina squad on Monday. Conte made it clear last week that the 24-year-old is someone who is even ready to play with an injury if needed (Mirror). So, no one should question his commitment baselessly.
