Recent reports have revealed the price tag Sunderland have put on midfielder Chris Rigg amidst interest from Premier League sides, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur show interest in Chris Rigg
Chris Rigg is a player that Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in, and even sent their scout to watch the midfielder play in the Championship this season.
Spurs are no strangers to signing players from the second division as we have seen them secure the signings of Archie Gray and Ashley Philips in recent seasons.
Chris Rigg is a 17-year-old U17 England international, who despite his young age, has made 53 competitive appearances for the black cats, scoring seven goals and registering one assist.
The young English midfielder is a talent that has drawn interest from a lot of England’s top-flight teams, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Sunderland want £25 million for Chris Rigg
With interest in the youngster growing, Caughoffside report that Sunderland have accepted the fact that they can no longer keep hold of Rigg.
While the Black Cats had resisted approaches for the 17-year-old midfielder in previous windows, they are now open to do business starting at £25 million.
The publication has also reported that Chelsea, Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are also eyeing Rigg.

Can Spurs win the summer race for Rigg?
With these many clubs showing interest in the England U17 international, it would be difficult for Spurs to land the midfielder. His talent is clear to see, however, £25 million is a lot of money for a 17-year-old.
Indeed, considering that Spurs paid well over £40million for Gray, it will not be a surprise if they made a move for Rigg, as they are looking to rebuild their midfield.
Should the club make a bid, perhaps their good relationship with Sunderland could work to their advantage. In 2022, the Black Cats and the Lilywhites did business when Jack Clarke joined the Championship club.
