Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to shatter their transfer record to bring Harry Kane back to the club next summer.
On a couple of occasions over the last week, Kane has played down talk of returning to Tottenham, although he made it no secret that the Lilywhites will always hold a special place in his heart.
On the back of his comments, some Spurs fans feel that the club’s chances of re-signing Kane are over for now.
However, it has now been suggested that the Lilywhites are not prepared to give up on their attempts to bring their record goalscorer back.

Tottenham are ready to spend big on Harry Kane next summer
According to reports from Germany, Kane would have to inform Bayern of his decision to leave by the end of January in order for the striker’s £57m clause to become active next summer.
However, it has now been reported by Fichajes that Tottenham are willing to pay more than £57m if necessary to bring the centre-forward back to North London.
The outlet says that the Premier League side are willing to pay €80m (£70m) for the England captain, which would make him a club-record signing.
It is alleged that the Tottenham hierarchy see Kane as the ‘ideal leader’ around whom they want to build their ambitious project as the club embarks on a new era.
Thomas Frank continues to talk up Kane’s return to Spurs
Last month, Thomas Frank said that he would love to work with Kane back at N17 if the 32-year-old wants to return.
The Dane did the same on Thursday, with Frank refusing to rule out the potential signing of Kane or Ivan Toney.
These comments will give hope for Tottenham fans, particularly given that Frank usually refuses to talk about any player who is not under contract at the club.
