Tottenham Hotspur will have to spend big this summer in order to prise Omar Marmoush away from Manchester City.
The forward has been on the Lilywhites’ radar for a while, with Marmoush being heavily linked with Tottenham in the most recent transfer window.
Spurs allegedly explored a loan deal for the Egypt international in January, with an option to buy, but Pep Guardiola’s men decided against letting him go.
The Lilywhites’ pursuit of the 27-year-old has got complicated ahead of the summer, with Aston Villa allegedly setting their sights on the Spurs target.

How much will Man City demand from Tottenham for Omar Marmoush?
A new report in Football Insider has now confirmed that the Villans have indeed expressed an interest in the City star ahead of the summer.
While it is unclear where Marmoush ranks on Villa’s wishlist, Unai Emery’s men are said to be prioritising adding some firepower to their frontline ahead of their return to the Champions League.
However, it is made clear that City are not planning to sell the forward, and the Midlands club would likely have to spend big to land the player.
The outlet adds that City will need to be offered close to the £59m they spent on Marmoush 18 months ago to greenlight his sale.
Pete O’Rourke says decision may come down to Marmoush himself
Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in the Spurs target, who has found starts hard to come by at the Etihad this season.
Some sources have claimed that Marmoush may push to leave in search of regular game time, and journalist Pete O’Rourke has now suggested that the decision may ultimately be down to the former Eintracht Frankfurt man rather than Man City.
O’Rourke told Football Insider about the forward: “City did spend big money on Marmoush when they signed him from Frankfurt, so they’ll be looking to recoup most of that. I think a lot of this will come down to the player’s own plans to be playing regularly, and he might have to push for a move away.”
