How some Tottenham players felt about Thomas Frank after lack of regular contact

Thomas Frank has been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, and it appears he hadn’t just lost the faith of the fans and the board in N17.

Tottenham have sacked Thomas Frank after the club moved one point closer to the relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

The Dane was unpopular with Spurs supporters due to his lifeless style of football, but this was not the only problem affecting his time in North London.

Frank’s relationship with his players became a cause for concern, and this played a part in Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange suggesting that a change in management was required.

Thomas Frank lost the Tottenham dressing room

According to Football London, Frank not only lost the confidence of the fans, but also some of his own players in the Spurs dressing room.

Tottenham’s former manager put his faith in a small core leadership of players. Some members of the squad outside this group would go days without one-on-one contact with Frank, so they were unaware where they stood with him.

Once the leaders began to ‘waver’ on their boss, Frank’s time at the club began approaching its end as the atmosphere became difficult.

Tottenham fans have already had their say on who they want to replace Frank as interim Spurs manager.

Spurs may have been underperforming under Frank

There have been suggestions that no matter who takes charge of Tottenham, the same problems will continue to exist. However, the fact that Frank lost control of the dressing room indicates the players may respond better to a new manager.

Even with the Tottenham first-team squad in a weakened state, a change in leadership could be enough to get the players performing again.

Spurs likely need just a few extra wins from a new manager bounce to keep them safe from relegation this season.
