How Spurs should deal with Oliver Skipp next season

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to strengthen their squad this transfer window in order to build on their success in Europe last season.

Spurs made it all the way to the Champions League final, but will need to invest if they are to achieve the same feat again.

But, what will happen to the Spurs youngsters if new stars do come in this summer?

One lad who could see his spot in the squad vanish is young Oliver Skipp, a player who has been on the fringes for the past year.

Skipp impressed during his sporadic performances last campaign, but with the likes of Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Luke Amos, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and more, how much game time will he really get?

I would argue that Skipp has passed stage one in his development, and another year of fringe football is not what he needs.

If I was Pochettino, I would be looking to loan Skipp out to either a decent level Championship side or a newly-promoted Premier League team.

Let’s see him in a starting XI week in week out and find out what he can really do.
