“How the hell did we sign him” – Some Spurs fans were blown away player’s display against Red Star

The 5-0 thrashing of Red Star Belgrade was just what the doctor ordered for Spurs on Tuesday evening in the Champions League.

The result will not only help restore some of the players’ lost confidence but also puts them in a much better position to qualify from their group.

There were some brilliant performances all over the pitch for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both looking threatening all game and managing net a brace.

One of Spurs’ best players on the night was summer signing Tanguy Ndombele, who was bought back in after being named among the substitutes for the draw against Watford on Saturday.

The Frenchman produced a fantastic display which included two assists, completed 91% of his passes and also won 75% of the tackles which he attempted (WhoScored.com).

Ndombele showed his quality in both winning possession back as well as his ability to drive forward with the ball and pick out key passes.

Some Spurs fans on social media were delighted with the 22-year-old’s display against the Serbian opposition.

Spurs Web Opinion

For a young player coming from France, Tanguy Ndombele has settled into life at Spurs rather quickly and his quality has been there for all to see. I believe he has the potential to be a great player for the side for years to come. Hopefully, Lo Celso also gets a run in the side and soon shows what he is capable of.
