How Tottenham feel about Fabio Paratici exit rumours just two months after welcoming him back

It appears that Tottenham Hotspur may have been blindsided by the ongoing speculation regarding the future of their sporting director, Fabio Paratici.

Just two months after he was confirmed as the joint sporting director of Tottenham alongside Johan Lange, the Italian may now be on his way out the door.

A few days ago, it emerged that Fiorentina had approached Paratici about taking over as the club’s Head of Football.

It has subsequently been claimed that Paratici is edging closer to leaving Spurs for Fiorentina, with the Serie A club confident of getting their man.

Fabio Paratici did not inform Tottenham about Fiorentina’s approach

A report in FirenzeViola claims that the Premier League club have been ‘surprised’ by the reports regarding Paratici’s proposed move to La Viola.

It is revealed that Tottenham only heard about the Italian club’s approach to their director via media reports.

It is claimed that as of Sunday night, the 53-year-old had not informed the North London club about any approach or any chances of a potential exit.

In fact, the outlet states that Tottenham are still waiting to be contacted by the Serie A club or by Paratici, with his exit requiring the English club to terminate his two-year contract.

Would Spurs block Paratici’s potential exit?

Given that Tottenham only employed Paratici two months ago, they may feel aggrieved if the Italian decides to jump ship so soon.

However, if the former Juventus director expresses an intention to leave, it appears unlikely that Spurs would block an exit.

The North London club have little to gain by hanging on to a sporting director who is not fully convinced about his role, but there is no doubt that a Paratici exit at this stage will leave Vinai Venkatesham with egg on his face.
