How Tottenham’s 12 loan players did this week from best to worst

With 12 players currently out on loan and playing regularly (or not, as the case may be) from Tottenham Hotspur right now, it’s time to take a look at who’s had a good week, and who’s struggling to impress.

Whether it be fringe players who seemingly have no future at Tottenham, or young talent looking to prove themselves and make an impression on Ange Postecoglou from afar, there’s plenty to keep track of when it comes to the players out on loan away from Tottenham’s first team squad at the moment.

Luckily, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about the progress those 12 players are making this week.

How are the Spurs loan players getting on this week?

Here, we discuss the ups and downs of the Spurs loanees, going from best to worst:

Japhet Tanganga: It was a weekend to remember for the Spurs academy graduate, who bagged his first-ever senior goal in a massive 2-1 away win for Millwall against promotion chasers Southampton. A big win, and a big performance from Tanganga, who put his body on the line to get on the scoresheet, and to protet his own goal later on, too.

Matthew Craig: Another win for Doncaster, and another 90 minutes for Matthew Craig. He followed up a goal and assist last week with a strong performance in a 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon, and earned big praise via Doncaster Free Press as his manager, Stuart McCall, insisted he will have a “top career.”

Josh Keeley: The young keeper continues to earn high praise as he kept another clean sheet and started his ninth straight game in a 2-0 win that takes Barnet second in the National league.

Joe Rodon: Leeds United recorded a huge win over Leicester City, which gives Leeds hope of catching the Championship pace-setters. It was a tough night for Rodon overall, but his side got the win.

Eric Dier: Bayern finally got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig (thanks to two goals from Harry Kane, no less), and Dier played the full 90 minutes. He has now doubled his Spurs game time this season already in just six appearances for the German giants.

Djed Spence: Genoa won again, with Djed Spence playing 12 minutes from the bench. Interestingly, Genoa have never lost when he’s played, but have lost every time he has not stepped onto the pitch.

Alfie Devine: Picked up 17 minutes of action from the bench in a 3-0 win for Plymouth over Middlesbrough. Speaking to Plymouth Live, his boss said he was simply managing the players and giving them a break.

Troy Parrott: Excelsior Rotterdam lost 2-1 to relegation candidates, Vitesse, a result which could well drag Rotterdam into danger. Parrott played the full 90 minutes once again, but only had one shot all game.

Alejo Veliz: Veliz continues his path to full fitness by getting 15 minutes under his belt against Real Madrid. Sevilla lost the game 1-0, and Veliz managed five touches in his brief cameo.

Ashley Phillips: Will be disappointed to have only played five minutes from the bench in Plymouth’s win over Middlesbrough, but was left out for much the same reason as Devine was.

Sergio Reguilon: Has been enjoying life at Brentford of late, but did not have a good time of it on Monday night. The Bees lost 4-2 to London rivals West Ham, with Reguilon playing 73 minutes and picking up a booking for complaining to the referee.

Tanguy Ndombele: Is struggling with a muscle injury and missed Monday night’s win over Antalyaspor.
