Tom Huddlestone is hoping to capitalise on playing regularly for Tottenham this season and earn a call-up to the England squad.

Huddlestone has been filling in at centre-back, as well as a string of impressive performances in midfield and is hoping his versatility could stand him in good stead for seat on the plane to South Africa next summer.

Previous England bosses have opted for versatility and Huddlestone is hoping he can move from the fringes of the squad into the elite selection.

“I had four and a half years with the Under 21s. That was enjoyable, but I’m too old now.

“The next step is the senior squad, so hopefully I’ll be able to kick on and get in that squad.

“I’ve been in the last two preliminary squads, but not managed to get in the final 23. I’m going along the right path hopefully.”

  1. Hi said this only last week but Harry ha sent done him any favours playing him in a virgin defence against Brutus elbous Davus the roman all over your back Bolton energised team .Right in front of the wise Italian he plunged young Tom in the deep end not only with six games Bassong but out of sorts goalkeeper and left back heading in to bad form throw in a bad swirling wind and it was remarkable we drew. But sadly Big Toms England chances have bean put back a bit the problem his now will he drop Tom for Moderic and Kranjcar one thing that suffered with Hudds at the back was our attack because the wind played havoc with is long passes so be carfull Harry if you leave him out we will suffer upfront even with Mods .TOM for England.

  2. No one can pick out a pass like hudds when he is on or hit a ball like him from outside the box. He would offer Englad something different on that front and so shld be included in the event that the careful build up is not getting results.

  3. hudd is a defensive option along side wilson, but when fit i’d quick niko/moderic in there. Still choose hudd over jenas any day tho . Fuck sake jenas why cant u come read some messages wat the fans think of ya and fuck off

  4. Exactly, Park Laner. Only people with no clue about anything just bang on about the same thing day in day out. Obviously they see something that seemingly all managers don’t… makes you wonder why they are doing their mundane 9-5 jobs and not applying for positions as football managers…

  5. i obviously know more than u if u think jenas is good for spurs. He’s about as over rated as his former club newcastle are.
