Huddlestone off to Stoke

Tom Huddlestone is about to complete a loan move to Stoke City this morning.

A tweet from Jermaine Pennant’s Twitter account this morning read: “Morning ladies n gents…. I walked in training and got a shock saw my friend Tom Huddleston…. On loan till end of season good signing.”

Huddlestone missed the majority of last season through injury and looks to be set for regular first team football at Stoke.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Good move. He has missed two seasons and this lets us gauge whether he can still cut it without having to sell him. He can't play against us as well, hopefully he helps Stoke take points of our rivals. They're playing Arsenal next!

    • Yes its a good move for Stoke i will have a bet right now Stoke will be higher than Spurs after 6 games and Avb will be the first Manager sacked. Just think of the balls Crouch will get from Hudds if he had played Hudds i could say yes he needs a loan this is a selling loan the Frog Gob want Spanish speaking players who will suffer from no room with all the extra energy being swallowed Hudds can save energy with one killer pass. Newcastle showed winning on points means nothing if you go home with nothing.. This wontl be the first of many mistakes our manager aged 34 will make the dressing room will be new the team new and the results new Newcastle was 2-2 now its 2-1 Levey and Avb should leave the building and turn the lights off our season is in transistion again in the Media and on the field a laughing stock.

  2. Gutted – hes a lovely player when hes fit. Such a good range of passing, hes exaxctly what we need to change things round when they arent going to plan. Great signing for Stoke, I can only hope it is only a loan so that he can get match sharp and it isnt with a view to a permanent move…

  3. Sad.
However he may show what he can do and come home after the loan. Hopefully we have a midseason return option clause.
Not the be all and end all, but his distribution is superb. Good deal for Stoke

  4. As a Spurs fan, I can see both the dangers and the advantages of letting Tom go out on Loan. No doubt he will add another dimension to their squad, plus he has Wilson and the step ladder there for comfort.
The advantages are that he will get much needed competitive game time in the premiership and it may help him to toughen up as a player rubbing shoulders with the Stoke cloggers. The dangers are that Spurs midfielders may pick up injuries and we will be short of experienced cover in that area. Tom is very talented but I feel that he hasnt really lived up to expectations as yet and can sometimes look like an oil tanker taking taking evasive action. Who would be a football manager eh.

    • This myth about being an Oil tanker goes back to when under JOL he ballooned to 16 st and has for him being slow speak to the fitness coach and he will tell you he is one of the fastestat the club and at School he ran the 100 metres Hurdles i have read all this in our great mags. Stoke have got the bargain of the season if his ankle is fully fixed. . Also why sell Dawson Gallas hamstrings Kaboul knee Vertonghan not trusted Caulker still 20 and sell him to a team we play in a few weeks what if we lose 1-0 again and this cost us 50 million champs place . Remember this Norwich 2-1 loan Naughton Stoke Crouch they took five points of us Stoke and Qpr could finish above us just like we nearly did only for Harry for England and the FA boss ex Man City chairman silence we could haveand Ady goal drought caused by Man City paying his wages ? We should be rejoicing with Ady joining but Keeping Livermore and selling Dawson and loaning Hudds with a sell on clause is bad Avb has proved he has learned nothing on the fieald and off it he is a control freak and if you complain he gets shut like he tried with Lampost Torres Cahill and Terry.

  5. I will take your name and be back i will be back Hudds Dawson Harry are real men Avb is a frog throat idiot a age and living in and i have supported Spurs longer than your brain took to develop . Living near Liverpool Manchester Everton and no scars shows you wouldn't want me to come calling so don't fucking insult my Loyalty. If i am wrong i will be the first to admit and praise Avb the trouble is he has lied already when he said we will carry on the good work Harry's done so why are we turning into Robots pressing high up the field it failed you have to work for 90 plus mins and tired Gallas showed he is to old to play like that and so is Friedegg. and lastly i found out you need backroom staff who no how to beat UKAD

  6. DO NOT LET HUDDLESTONE LEAVE – Huddlestone is a FAR better passer, tackler, shooter and ultimately a better FOOTBALLER, than Jake Livermore. Jake Livermore is only the flavour of the month as Tom was injured last year and Jake (due to Tom's injury) played for England last week. AVB just does not know, due to Tom's injury last year, how good Huddlestone is! Tom is the future of Spurs and English football!

This is a huge mistake – we must keep Tom Huddlestone and let Jake Livermore go out on loan if we are to make Champions League!

  7. well said sibiza. my opinion is the porto man will create a shitload of problems, we already loked shite at castle and believe me selliong dawson is meaningless and huddlestone should have been given a go, but this is levys fault. the porto will not do anything better than harry and now hes getting in people no better than dawson at the back, why did he let pennar go by the way

  8. How long has Hudd been with us for now? Has he ever looked like a winner. For a guy built like a rock, he can't and doesn't tackle. He doesn't score many goals, he is slow, isn't aggressive enough either. The only advantage he has is when he pings the ball around over 30 yards or more. He is like a quarterback in american football. If he plays, he needs the rest of the players around him to keep moving and covering for him when we lose possession as he isn't able to track, tackle or dictate a midfield.
