Some Tottenham fans on social media are disappointeded by reports indicating that Sergio Reguilon could be out of action for around three weeks after picking up an injury.
Reguilon has established himself as an integral part of the Spurs side since arriving from Real Madrid in the summer.
The Spaniard’s forays down the left flank have been one of Tottenham’s most effective attacking outlets due to his pace and crossing ability.
However, The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick reported yesterday that the left-back is expected to be out of action for around three weeks after scans revealed that he had picked up a muscle injury.
Kilpatrick claimed that Ben Davies is also a doubt for the clash against Liverpool this evening after being forced off with a calf problem in Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Wycombe on Monday.
The Welshman reportedly faced a late fitness test to determine if he could play against the Reds.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the news of Reguilon’s injury:
Davies also picked up a knock the other night

This is really frustrating. Was really hoping we'd see Reguilon attack Trent https://t.co/NBrQvm4jgl

I swear we are cursed whenever we play Liverpool #THFC #COYS https://t.co/9HWyUYSmFs

His pace and attacking threat would have been perfect against Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and City.

Reguilon injured for three weeks is a huge blow. Easily our best left-back and he seemed to be getting better in recent weeks – passing wise and losing possession of the ball much less. Would be gutting to miss him for tomorrow as well as the Chelsea + City games.

Reguilon and Davies injured for tomorrow… relax… this guy started his career there 😅 pic.twitter.com/tfaxMNTrYi

I'm so mad rn because of Reguilon. He's been fine all season, playing some unnecessary games and now that we have to face Liverpool, he's injured. I'm not ready to watch Davies again Salah tomorrow night 😫

Aurier and Doherty have both played LB before so it’s an option. But Reguilon be a big miss he offers so much 🤷🏻♂️

As a Spurs fan, you have to feel nervous when so many of the other results go our way 🙈 I will admit that the news of Reguilón's injury has me feeling a little less confident about tomorrow, especially if Davies ends up unable to play, but Tanganga does love to play Liverpool…

Reguilon looks like he’s out for a couple of weeks, will potentially miss the games against Chelsea and City. Davies also looks like a doubt tomorrow. Going to be really difficult not playing with a recognised LB but probably a big chance for Tanganga tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/yrCgcilraD

Spurs Web Opinion
If Davies does not pass a late fitness test, I expect Aurier to start at left-back and Doherty to play at right-back. The biggest blow with respect to having Reguilon unavailable for three weeks is that it prevents Jose from deploying three at the back which worked so well against Sheffield United.
