‘Huge expectations’ – Ramon Vega on Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment at Spurs

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Ramon Vega believes that Nuno Espirito Santo has a huge responsibility as the club’s new head coach given the expectations of the supporters.

Vegas has called for a huge rebuild of the squad to take place and stressed the fact that he is now at a completely different level of club having previously managed Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The former Swiss international highlighted the philosophy and style of play which is expected at Tottenham are far higher than what would have been expected of him at Wolves.

Despite historically having been a big club, Vega admitted that he does not currently consider Spurs to have the same label from a sporting point of view and now have to show the ambition to win silverware.

The 50-year-old believes the expectations must result in Tottenham qualifying for European football every season while also winning domestic trophies, with the expectation now resting on the shoulders of Nuno.
