Huge Samu Aghehowa update emerges as Tottenham fight for £87m striker

A new report from Portugal has provided some interesting details about the race for rumoured Tottenham target Samu Aghehowa.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that over the last few weeks, many publications have said that Tottenham are keeping an eye on Porto striker Samu Aghehowa, who is thought to have a release clause of £87m in his contract.

In fact, according to various sources, Fabio Paratici will spearhead Tottenham’s pursuit of Aghehowa, with the Lilywhites’ sporting director said to be a big fan of the Spaniard.

Over recent days, we have heard that Chelsea may be ready to make a big offer for the Spurs target, and it now turns out that the race for his signature is getting even more crowded.

Two Tottenham rivals enter the race for Samu Aghehowa

According to a report in A Bola, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have now entered the race to sign the Porto star in the upcoming transfer window.

Interestingly, the outlet makes no mention of Tottenham Hotspur, stating that the Villans and the Magpies are now ready to challenge Chelsea for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Additionally, it is revealed that Aghehowa had conversations with Nottingham Forest in the summer, but the young centre-forward was unconvinced by their project.

The outlet also makes it clear that the only way that Porto will let their star man leave is if his £87m release clause is met.

Spurs are also eyeing an experienced Serie A striker

The other striker who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks is Dusan Vlahovic, who is allegedly looking for an exit route from Juventus in January.

Some sources have claimed that Paratici’s return to Spurs makes them Vlahovic’s most likely destination in January.

The striker will be down to the final six months of his contract at the turn of the year, and it has been alleged that Juventus are ready to cash in on the Tottenham target for just £13m.
