Tottenham secured all three points against Wolves today as the game ended 2-1 courtesy of a dramatic late winner from Jan Vertonghen.
It was backs to the wall stuff for Tottenham for most of the ninety minutes as Nuno Espírito Santo’s side were a constant threat going forward.
Spurs defended bravely for most of the game but after Adama Traore struck midway into the second half to cancel Lucas Moura early strike, it looked as if the away side will do well to come away with a point.
However, Jose Mourinho’s men continued to defend resolutely until the end before Jan Vertonghen made the most of being unmarked in the penalty area direct a well-placed header past Rui Patricio in injury time to give Tottenham all three points.
Some Spurs fans on social media were overjoyed with the result and were now eagerly anticipating the Chelsea clash next weekend which is now crucial in the race for the top four spots.
Wolves hadn’t lost at home in 16 games and fucking had a field day against us for 89 minutes but it’s the first time in a very long time we’ve shown a bit of resilience and backbone and held on to grab a last minute winner. Jose really is giving our players that winning mentality

Loved the way we shared round the hacking down of Traore for yellow cards in the same way they did with Lucas. Play to win.

Winning away at Wolves is difficult. The fact we did under unrelenting pressure showed the drive and discipline that will get us in the top four. Up the Spurs.

This tweet continues to look worse every week. 3 pts from 15 for Chelsea & 12 pts from 15 for Spurs since this was tweeted. Let’s keep it going that way next Sunday. https://t.co/iboYVo5Iyn

When Jose Mourinho took over at Tottenham Hotspur one month ago they were 11 points off the Champions League places.
Spurs are now just three points off 4th and will go into the top four if they beat Chelsea next week
‘Jody Is Now Worried’ … 🤪

Spurs Web Opinion
We showed all the qualities in that performance that have been missing so far this season – character, resilience and mental toughness. It was great to see that the players’ heads didn’t drop after Wolves’ equaliser and they were putting their bodies on the line to make last-ditch blocks. They got their just reward in the end with Jan’s winner.
