Hugo Lloris admits Spurs are relishing their clash against Bayern Munich

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will play just their third Champions League game under the lights of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when they welcome Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Spurs will face off against the German giants who already had a 100% record in Group B following their 3-0 match day one victory against Red Star Belgrade.

It looked as if Spurs would have joined them on three points only to frustratingly throw away a two-goal lead in Athens to draw 2-2 with Olympiacos.

Club captain Hugo Lloris admits that the fixture is one which all the players are looking forward to and has called upon the fans to help create an atmosphere to drive the team on to success.

Lloris certainly had a game of two halves against Southampton yesterday afternoon when he was at fault for the Saints equaliser and produced two stunning saves in the second half to preserve their 2-1 lead.

He told talkSPORT: “It’s the type of game we are all looking forward to. It’s the type of game we all want to play and for sure it’s going to be a big night.

“It’s important to recover well after the big effort of today.

“We know with the push of the big crowd we are capable of facing that type of opponent. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and it’s going to be very interesting to play.”

Opinion

The Frenchman needs to sort out his distribution for Tuesday’s match, if he makes a mistake of that degree against Bayern they won’t thin twice about punishing Tottenham.

If we are to push for a top of the table finish, we need to be ensuring that all three points remain in North London.
