Hugo Lloris issues plea to the Spurs supporters

Tottenham Hotspur may have been underperforming in the Premier League of late, but it has been anything but in the Champions League.

Not only did the Lilywhites pull off one of the most incredible come backs in group stage history after taking just a point from their first three games, but they then qualified for the quarters in sensational style.

Tottenham smashed the then German League leaders Borussia Dortmund 3-0 at home, before travelling to Germany and beating them there too.

This lined up an all-English tie against Man City in the next round, as two of the top three Premier League sides come head to head over two legs.

The first of these is set to be played at the new Tottenham stadium next week, and Hugo Lloris is hoping that the side will be able to feel the power of the fans and the atmosphere they create.

He also claims that the team need time to build a great future.

Lloris said (Daily Mail): “At some moments in the game, we feel the power.

“I think this can be a help for the team. We will need the crowd for every game. Of course, this is a big moment for the club. To be part of a quarter-final for the Champions League is a great opportunity.

“We try to create a great future but cannot build this in one or two seasons. We need time.”
