Hugo Lloris issues promise to Spurs fans

The Tottenham players are currently in a training camp in Barcelona as Pochettino has decided to use the long break as an opportunity to put the players through their paces in some warm weather training.

Tottenham go into the training camp in poor form having taken only one point from 12 on offer in their recent games, one of the poorest runs the team has been on during Pochettino’s time at the club.

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris, who was the hero of the team’s recent draw in the North London derby and the away win at the Westfalenstadion, has said that the players have discussed their recent form, and know what to do to turn the results around.

He said that the players need to give a little bit extra during games instead of dropping off for periods.

Speaking to the Mirror, the Frenchman said, “Obviously, we have spoken a lot about the last few games as a team and it is just about everyone giving that little bit more, individually and as a team, to help bring that level of consistency back.

“The Southampton game is the best example — we had a good first half, then we dropped our level of performance and let them get back into the game.

“In the Premier League, it is not possible to play like this. You need consistency so that is what we’re looking for over the rest of the season.”

The 32-year-old also said that the training camp is helping the team to get into a positive frame of mind again.

He added, “It’s always good to have a mental break without competition, to spend time together and work properly as a team. Then we will come back to the competition even hungrier.

“These trips are good for the team and help create positive waves again.

“It’s about a balance and we will try to get the benefits of this week, both in the mind and in the body.”
