Hugo Lloris reveals how Spurs are winning without Kane and Dele

Tottenham Hotspur fans would have feared the worst after they saw Dele Alli drop to the floor against Fulham a few weeks ago.

The England midfielder was clutching his hamstring, which on any normal day would have been bad news, but on that day, it was especially gloomy.

Spurs were already without Harry Kane and Lucas Moura through injury, and Heung Min Son was away at the Asia Cup, meaning Tottenham were left with little attacking flare.

Fears may have been surrounding Spurs’ top four position, and the security of Champions League next season, but they have actually achieved a 100% record in the absence of Kane and Alli in the Prem.

With Son and Lucas now back, the team look capable of seeing games out and fighting until the end for the points until their star duo return.

Hugo Lloris has revealed that it is all about the entire squad, rather than just a select few in times like these.

He talked about the Newcastle win (Mirror): “It was a big win, a big win. It’s all about spirit and the mentality of this squad. It’s not just the starting 11, it’s all the players involved and committed towards the team, all ready to help.

“Then, in football, you have to stick to your basics and this is what we do. It’s not easy, we miss a lot of players but the team is doing well and that’s good for the minds of everyone.

“Also, in every game the bench can make a difference and you know when it goes like this it helps the team to improve and to get the win late in the game.

“That was the case against Newcastle, Watford and Fulham . It’s all about spirit.

“In this period of the season, the most important thing is to get the three points. We are in a good way and we need to carry on and try to be as consistent as possible until the end.”
