Hugo Lloris’ wife, Marine, has shared a picture of the Tottenham captain’s knee in braces following the news of his injury.
It emerged on Wednesday that Lloris had injured his knee in the latter stages of Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, with the injury expected to keep the goalkeeper out of action for six to eight weeks (Telegraph).
Fraser Forster will thus have to take over the goalkeeping gloves at a crucial stage of the season, with Spurs set to play six Premier League games until mid-March in addition to the two Champions League round of 16 clashes against AC Milan.
If reports over the last 24 hours are to be believed, the Lilywhites are now scrambling for goalkeeping cover and could snap up free agent Ben Foster on a short-term deal (Mirror).
Marine Lloris has now taken to Instagram to post a picture of her husband’s knee in braces.
Spurs Web Opinion
The disappointing thing from Lloris’ perspective is that this injury might essentially guarantee an exit from Tottenham in the summer.
The Frenchman would have been hoping to have a strong second half of the season to prove that he can still play at the highest level but has now seemingly been robbed of the chance to do so.
