Hutton cites Bale example

Alan Hutton has looked to the example of Gareth Bale as he looks to get his Tottenham career back on track.

Hutton had found himself frozen out of first-team duties at White Hart Lane, but came off the bench to provide a match-changing performance in the 3-1 win over Wolves.

Redknapp talked up the Scottish full-back’s performance after the game and Hutton has looked to Gareth Bale, once himself far out of the first-team picture for inspiration.

“With Gareth it shows how things can change. He wasn’t playing, but now he is such an important part of the team

“I want to keep working hard and take my chance.

“It’s been tough, all players want to play. So when I get a chance, I have to grab it with both hands.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I always liked Hutton, he’s quick up and down the flank and has always been good at bombing crosses in from that final third. Think the wolves performance was a case of him coming into a very tired wolves defense & being a bit of an unknown. All in all though, not a bad competitor for Corluka IMO.
