Hutton: I never wanted to leave

Alan Hutton

Alan Hutton has insisted that he never wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur.

The right-back has forced his way back into Harry Redknapp’s plans and claims that even when he was on loan at Sunderland last season – leaving White Hart Lane never crossed his mind.

He said: “I never wanted to leave, even when I went on loan. It was a case of I had to play games for myself and my career.

“I came back wanting to play for Tottenham and do my best.

“I have been desperate to prove to everybody what I can do. I’m just really happy at the moment and loving every minute of playing.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I like Hutton but in our team he his a luxury we cant afford he strays inside to much and with is willingness to attack leaves huge gaps at the back. He also takes too much of Lennons attacking game of him. This means Lennon is always rushing back to cover the marauding Hutton , my choice is Kaboul he is fast tall and a better defender.

  2. Think we are lucky to have both Hutton and Kaboul, they are quality players and improving by the game.
It could be worse we could have Glen Johnson at right back !!!!!!!!

  3. For me Carluka may be slow but is oneof the best right backs in Europe.Lennon is a much better player when Carluka is playing.
