“I am afraid of you” – Mourinho bluntly tells player what he thinks of his defending

Some members of the press have been given early access to watch the first three episodes of the upcoming All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur docuseries.

The nine-part series gives an insight into the strange and unique 2019-20 campaign which includes Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking, Jose Mourinho’s arrival and the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Journalist Alasdair Gold, who has watched the opening episodes of the docuseries revealed an exchange between Jose Mourinho and Serge Aurier.

The Spurs head coach bluntly told the Ivorian before the Champions League match against Olympiacos at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that he was afraid of his defensive capabilities and he was going to have to mark opposition players from corner kicks.

Gold quoted Mourinho as saying within an article on Football.London: I am afraid of you as a marker, because you are capable of doing a **** penalty, with VAR. So I am telling you already that I am afraid of you.”

Aurier has been linked with a move away from North London Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan both said to be keen on the right-back (Sky Sports).

The first episode of the series will be released on Monday, August 31 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
