‘I am convinced’ – Journalist claims Harry Kane main target of European giant next summer

Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Bayern Munich will make a concerted effort in their attempt to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur next summer.

Bayern club chief Oliver Kahn confirmed in July that the England captain is of interest to the Bundesliga giants (Bild).

Bayern have been left without a focal point to their attack after the prolific Robert Lewandowski swapped the Allianz Arena for Barcelona for £42.5million during the summer transfer window (The Sun).

Kane is out of contract in north London in the summer of 2024 with Plettenberg previously revealing that the Bavarians have made contact with Kane’s brother and representative, Charlie Kane (Football Daily).

Spurs head coach Antonio Conte insisted at the end of last month that he believes Kane is happy in north London and would like him to put pen to paper on a new deal (Sky Sports).

Plettenberg has suggested that Bayern have the funds available to bring in a new forward.

He told Sky Italia: “I am convinced that Kane will be Bayern Munich’s real market target next summer. It will depend on the player’s performance this season, but Bayern has the money. Coman, Mane, Gnabry are there, but a no. 9 is missing.”

Plettenberg has a natural bias toward the Bundesliga and covers every rumour of Kane’s future in a positive light towards the possibility of the forward joining Bayern.

However, common sense tells us that Kane sees his future in the Premier League and is determined to overtake Alan Shearer as the competition’s top scorer.
