‘I am enjoying it a lot’ – Spurs forward opens up on his loan move so far

Troy Parrott has said he is enjoying his time on loan at MK Dons so far and believes the side’s performances give him confidence every time he steps onto the pitch.

The 19-year-old joined the Dons in the summer after two unsuccessful loan spells with Millwall and Ipswich Town last season, where he struggled to make a real impact.

He failed to score a single goal in 14 games for Millwall, while he managed to register two in 18 for Ipswich.

But on his third loan spell, Parrott has settled well with MK Dons, scoring his third goal in eight games at the weekend against Wycombe Wanderers.

Liam Manning’s side have enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign and sit third in League One with 18 points from nine games.

Parrott believes his teammates are creating plenty of opportunities for him to do well, and he is using his form to build confidence heading into future encounters.

Speaking to the MK Citizen, he said: “In every game, I’ve had plenty of chances to score and that excites me a lot. It gives me confidence coming onto the pitch that the boys around me are going to create chances for me, and likewise me for them.

“I am enjoying it a lot, things are going well so far. Obviously, I have a couple of goals, I’d like a lot more but I take confidence from the ones I’ve got and I’m enjoying it a lot.”

Parrott is still very young for a striker and still has a long way to go, but it is excellent that he has found somewhere to be playing week in week out. After the frustrations of last season, it is good to see him starting to flourish and gain invaluable experience.
