I am happy at Tottenham – midfielder denies exit rumours

There has been increasing speculation about the future of Victor Wanyame, however the midfielder insists that his future lies at Tottenham Hotspur.

Wanyama has been the subject of rumours along with fellow defensive midfielder Mousa Dembele that their time at Spurs may be coming to an end, in reality it is more likely that the Belgian will depart over the Kenyan.

The 26-year-old suffered an injury hit season and mostly found himself when fit behind Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele in the selection pecking order.

Some news outlets have reported that Manchester United and Liverpool have an interest in the former Southampton player who is valued at around £40million, however, if Wanyama has anything to do with it, he will still be at the club next season.

Wanyama’s highlight of last season was the stunning strike he scored in the draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

‘I don’t respond to rumours and all those are rumours to me, I still have a contract with Spurs and that is what I want to see through’ Wanyama told Goal.

‘I did not have a good season with the team because of injury and my aim now is to work hard during this break and return for next season even stronger and help them perform even better.

‘I am happy at Tottenham and I am committed to the team. I am not aware of anything [regarding a move away] and I am very fine and happy where I am.’
