Ian Wright has admitted that he was never worried about Harry Kane’s form despite the striker struggles for Tottenham this season.
Kane has only scored once in the Premier League in ten matches this campaign, which is a substantial drought by his standards.
Understandably, a lot was made of the striker’s poor form heading into the international break but the Tottenham man insisted it was only a matter of time before he started scoring with regularity.
He was proven right in England’s clashes against Albania and San Marino, netting two back-to-back first-half hat-tricks in the two games.
Spurs fans will be hoping that the 28-year-old can now take this form into club level and put his struggles behind him.
Ian Wright has now said on the back of Kane’s seven goals against Albania and San Marino that he was always confident the England captain would find the back of the net if he received good service.
The former Arsenal man told ITV (7:07 pm, November 15, 2021): “He [Kane] is somebody that I am never worried about if he is in the right areas getting chances. I am never worried.”
Spurs Web Opinion
The calls from some England fans for Kane to be dropped from the starting eleven was utterly ridiculous. Even though Kane has been poor in the Premier League, it is worth noting that he has continued scoring with regularity for England. That suggests the lack of service at Spurs under Nuno was a big part of the problem for the 28-year-old.
