Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has explained why Spurs cannot afford to drop to the Championship, admitting he is still praying for their survival.
It is certainly crunch time in the Premier League this season, with a lot still to play for across the division.
The destination of the Premier League title remains unknown, with both Arsenal and Manchester City embroiled in a two-horse race with three games to go.
The European places are yet to be decided, with several teams fighting for Europa League and Conference League spots.
Unfortunately for Tottenham Hotspur, their battle is at the other end of the table, with relegation still very much a possibility after a disastrous 25/26 campaign.

Tottenham’s survival hopes discussed as Emmanuel Adebayor sends message
Tottenham gave themselves a boost in the last round of fixtures after beating Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park, a result that has seen them climb out of the bottom three and into 17th place.
However, that is not enough to guarantee safety, as West Ham United, in 18th place, are just a single point behind the Lilywhites, with everything still to play for.
Although relegation remains a possibility, Spurs will be encouraged that their fate is in their own hands, and if they can match West Ham’s results from now until the end of the season, they will remain a Premier League side.
Former Spurs forward Emmanuel Adebayor has now opened up on the prospect of Tottenham being relegated and what it could mean for the club, speaking on talkSPORT, where he expressed his belief in the squad and his hope that they avoid the drop.
He said, “I am praying for them to survive. They will do everything possible, they have a good team with good players, but they just have to link up together, connect together as a team to be able to go through this obstacle, to be able to go through this dark moment in their career.
“I cannot see them playing in the second division with players like Kudus, with players like Richarlison, Bissouma – they have great players, so it is just not normal.
“And obviously, looking at their stadium also, it is one of the best stadiums right now in England, not to say in the world, so for them to be relegated into the second division, it does not make sense to football.”
Spurs hold survival advantage heading into key fixtures
Matchweek 36 is set to be pivotal in the race to avoid the drop, as Tottenham face Leeds United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Should Spurs beat Daniel Farke’s men and West Ham lose to Arsenal, their chances of survival will be significantly boosted, as they will move four points clear of the drop zone.
After this matchweek, Tottenham will again be hoping for another favour when West Ham face Newcastle United, who are beginning to find some form.
If the Hammers drop points there, Spurs will be hoping to get a result in the battle of the bridge, and if they do manage a result at Stamford Bridge, their Premier League status could be secure. In all, it is Spurs’ fight to lose, as their destiny is firmly in their own hands.
