After being linked with a move to North London for some time, Tottenham Hotspur finally managed to secure Ryan Sessegnon’s signature on deadline day.
The deal is reportedly worth £25m rising to £30m, with Spurs midfielder Josh Onomah moving the other way (Sky Sports).
Tottenham’s official website confirmed that the 19-year-old has signed a contract with the club until 2025 and will wear the number 19 shirt this season.
The teenager is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in English football but failed to live up to expectations last term in what was his first season in the Premier League.
After putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Lilywhites, the young defender took to social media to express his delight at the move. Sessegnon insisted that he was at the right club to take his game to the next level.
Check out what Tottenham’s newest signing tweeted:
I am absolutely delighted and buzzing to have signed with @spursofficial. A club with a fantastic fan base and a place where I feel I can learn and improve as a player to take my game to the next level. I can’t wait to get started! 💙 #COYS pic.twitter.com/A0jL4pMnG9

Spurs Web Opinion
This could potentially be a sensational signing for the club in the long run given the potential Sessegnon has. However, he is still very much a raw talent and Spurs fans must thus be patient with him and give him time to settle down at the club and mature as a player.
