Former Spurs academy defender, Jonathan Dinzeyi has taken to social media to express his delight at completing a controversial move to North London rivals, Arsenal.
Dinzeyi was released by Spurs last month, having failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Lilywhites.
The 20-year-old central defender only made six appearances across all competitions for the Tottenham Under-23 side last season (Football.London).
The youngster was reportedly close to joining Queens Park Rangers in February after having a trial with the Championship side (West London Sport) but that did not materialise into a permanent deal.
Arsenal confirmed on Monday morning that Dinzeyi had signed a professional contract with the club and will be joining up with their Under-23s next season.
On being signed by the Gunners, the young defender took to social media to admit his delight at getting an opportunity to prove himself again at a top club.
Spurs Web Opinion
While moving across the North London divide is simply not acceptable, irrespective of how young or experienced one is, I do not think anyone can be critical of Dinzeyi. He did not get much of a look-in at Spurs and it was the club’s decision to release him last month. Let’s hope the decision does not come back to haunt us a few years down the line.
