Photos: “I can’t wait to be playing here” – £25.7m man is exicted by Spurs’ stadium

It was indeed a great occasion for the players involved as well as the fans in attendance on Wednesday night as Spurs played their first ever Premier League game at the new stadium.

Palace were the first visitors to the venue and were brushed aside with consummate ease by the home side through second-half goals from Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen.

There was a rousing opening ceremony before the match, and the fans never stopped singing throughout the ninety minutes.

One player who wasn’t part of the matchday squad was Erik Lamela due to injury. The Argentine instead decided to watch the game from the stands along with the Spurs supporters.

Lamela posted photos tonhis Instagram story from his seat in the stands with the caption “I’m in love”, before posting a video of the opening ceremony with the caption, “I can’t wait to be playing here.”

Erik probably doesn’t have to wait too much longer to experience the atmosphere as he could be involved against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter finals on Tuesday evening.
