Radu Dragusin’s agent, Florian Manea has been speaking again about Bayern Munich’s failed move for the centre-back, revealing that Thomas Tuchel had a thirty-minute conversation with his client in an effort to convince him to make the switch to Bavaria.
It has been well documented over the last few weeks that Spurs saw off competition from Bayern to land Dragusin, with the centre-back himself shedding light on the same.
The 21-year-old explained a couple of weeks ago that he felt a move to Tottenham would be the right fit for him at this stage of his career and also admitted that he had always dreamed of playing in the Premier League (The Athletic).
Various sources have revealed since the transfer that Ange Postecoglou’s conversation with the centre-back was a key factor in convincing the centre-back to pick Spurs over Bayern (Ben Jacobs –Last Word on Spurs).

Manea has now revealed that Tuchel also directly spoke to the defender about the role he sees him playing at the Allianz Arena.
However, he explained that Dragusin had already made up his mind about moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by that time.
Manea told Fanatik: “The offer from Bayern came in the last few days. When an offer comes from Bayern, you have to put the brakes on, evaluate it. We are talking about Bayern Munich. Bayern understood too.
“We asked them for a night to think, but we had already given our word to Tottenham. Tuchel called Radu personally. He spoke with Radu for half an hour. I could hear everything he was saying.
“He had a match right away. He had no emotion. Even Gilardino asked me if he could put it in, to play. He was the best on the field. Tuchel asked him if he could also play right back, but he didn’t say that’s where he wanted to use him. He was already decided on Tottenham.”

I have never seen any representative who loves the limelight as much as Manea does. One would imagine that Dragusin himself cannot be too pleased that his agent constantly keeps revealing various private details about his transfer decision.
