‘I could play if the Champions League final was today’ – says recovering Spurs star

Tottenham Hotspur are well under a week away from the match that could change the future of the club, the Champions League final.

Spurs have never reached the CL final before, with the quarters being their previous best, and the club is actually without a trophy of any kind in well over a decade.

What a way to end the drought it would be if Hugo Lloris lifts the prestigious trophy come Saturday night, a victory that could kickstart a Tottenham rise.

Pochettino has been given a huge boost in his selection dilemma today, as Harry Kane has strongly declared himself fit and ready for the final.

Kane was last seen for Tottenham against Man City in the quarter-final first leg, but rolled his ankle and picked up a nasty ligament injury.

However, Kane has now claimed that he could play in the final if it was today (Monday), let alone Saturday evening, when the tie is actually set to take place.

Kane’s exact words were (Sun): ‘I could play if the Champions League final was today.’

Spurs Web Opinion:

Who knows if Kane is really 100% or if he is just desperate to play in the final. I would hope that if he didn’t feel at his best, then he would tell Pochettino and they could use him off the bench. However, if he honestly feels he is fit and ready, then I suppose the logical decision would be to start him and drop either Son, Dele, or Moura. My immediate opinion would be to drop Moura and bring him on when legs are tired to make an impact.
