Richarlison has admitted he ‘couldn’t believe it’ when he learned Tottenham had made an offer to sign him this summer.
The Brazil international joined the club from Everton on a five-year contract last week in a deal which could cost up to £60 million with add-ons (The Guardian).
Spurs recently revealed the 25-year-old forward will wear the famous No. 9 shirt, which he is expected to run out in during the club’s upcoming pre-season tour of South Korea.
Richarlison had attracted plenty of interest from Chelsea (Sky Sports) after helping keep Everton in the Premier League but Spurs managed to fend off the competition from their London rivals.
And opening up on hearing of Tottenham’s offer, Richarlison admitted he got chills in his stomach once he arrived in north London.
He said (Spurs Official via Football.London): “I’m very happy for this moment. I remember when I was in Brazil and the offer from Tottenham came I couldn’t believe it. And after I signed the contract, even more so because it feels like a dream. When I arrived here it gave me chills in my stomach to see my new teammates and a new home.
“I hope to make history here in this shirt. And now it’s about working with the great coach I have, with my great teammates too and make history in that shirt.”

Richarlison seems to be delighted with securing a move to Tottenham and there is plenty of excitement from the supporters about the transfer.
It is a really solid move from the club and it should help the rest of the forwards out and it will be good to see him out there over the pre-season period.
