‘I do not care if he played for Spurs’ – Campbell urges Arsenal to snap up midfielder

Arsenal legend Kevin Campbell has urged his former side to snap up Christian Eriksen who is rumoured to be on his way out of Inter Milan in January.

Reports indicate that the midfielder, who has struggled for game time since leaving Spurs to join Inter in January could be set to leave the Nerrazuri after just a year at the club (FC Inter News).

It was reported two weeks ago that Antonio Conte’s side had offered him to a number of Premier League clubs including Tottenham.

A report from Corriere Dello Sport earlier this week (as relayed by The Sun) claimed that a move to Spurs’ fierce North London rivals could be on the cards for the midfielder.

It was suggested that Inter were eyeing Granit Xhaka as an option to bolster their midfielder and a swap deal involving Eriksen heading the other way was mooted as a possibility.

Campbell has urged the Gunners to forget about the Dane’s Tottenham past and to bring him to the Emirates.

The pundit told Football Insider: “Eriksen played for the rivals but we all know the quality he possesses, that is for sure.

“It is not quite working out for him at Inter Milan right now and I am sure he would be a good addition to Arsenal’s squad.

“I do not care if he played for Spurs – he is a superb player who can bring something to the table for Arsenal.

“I would not mind it if we swapped Eriksen for Xhaka. The key is building and fattening that squad up to challenge and you can never have enough quality players.”
